If the assault occurred within 72 hours, sexual assault evidence collection could be completed at the hospital. Please keep in mind that if this option is taken, the police will be notified by medical staff. If you decide to go this route, it is a good idea to try to avoid washing your hands, taking a shower, changing your clothes, or disturbing the scene of the crime until after you have gone to the hospital and spoken with the police.

If you do not want the police involved but are concerned about STDs or pregnancy, you could either go to the hospital, your primary care physician, or utilize services at Family Planning or Western Community Health Resources.
