Our Mission and
Policy on Confidentiality

The Mission of Family Rescue Services is to insure that victims of domestic violence and sexual assault are provided adequate emergency services, support, advocacy, and a safe haven. Furthermore, our mission is to promote public awareness and understanding about domestic violence and sexual assault.

It is the policy that all communications, observations, and information made by, between, or about clients remain confidential to protect the privacy and safety of our clients. We feel that confidentiality is the number one service we provide. It is a crucial part of our job at Family Rescue Services. Confidentiality applies to all staff, volunteers, and clients for the safety of all those named above. Confidentiality is so important that if it is broken, legal action could be taken and is considered a Class IV misdemeanor.

There are limitations to our confidentiality, however. If any of the following are suspected, they will be reported without consent:

Child Abuse/Neglect, Vulnerable Adult Abuse, Grave Risk of Danger to Client, Client is serious threat to herself or someone else, Life-threatening medical emergency, Client’s death is possible homicide.
